FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lagos, Nigeria — October 23, 2024

Tramango Selected Among Nine Leading Nigerian Startups for 2024 Scale Up by Endeavor Program

Tramango.com is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of nine leading Nigerian startups to join the 2024 cohort of the Scale Up by Endeavor program. Endeavor Nigeria made the announcement on October 23, 2024, naming 12 high-impact entrepreneurs across 9 companies — with Tramango represented by its CEO, Emmanuel Olukanmi, and COO, Ayobami Akinnuga.

The Scale Up by Endeavor program is designed to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s most promising early-stage companies, offering curated mentorship, peer-to-peer community engagement, and access to essential resources to help high-potential startups achieve sustainable scale. Being selected for the programme is a competitive distinction — Endeavor Nigeria aims to select just 4–6 companies per year, and today its Nigeria portfolio comprises 35 entrepreneurs leading 17 companies.

“We are genuinely honoured to be selected,” said Emmanuel Olukanmi, CEO of Tramango. “Building a travel technology company in Nigeria is not a small undertaking. There are infrastructure challenges, consumer education hurdles, and funding realities that test you every single day. Being selected by Endeavor is a recognition that despite all of that, we are building something meaningful — a platform that makes the world more accessible to Nigerians. That means everything to us, and it motivates us to push even harder.”

The 2024 cohort joins a distinguished group of Nigerian entrepreneurs selected for their ability to tackle complex challenges in sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic growth. Fellow cohort members include Hugo Obi of Maliyo Games, Folayemi Agusto of Tix Africa, John Oamen and Modele Ajayi-Bembe of Cutstruct, Frederick Akpoghene of JéGO, Samuel Eze of OurPass, Babatunde Akin-Moses of Sycamore, Seun Alley of Fez, and Chimezie Emewulu and Frank Atube of Seamfix.

A standout feature of this year’s programme is its support from Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will provide cohort members with access to innovative cloud computing tools, digital solutions, and technical support critical for scaling efficiently. AWS’s involvement gives participating companies the infrastructure and technology resources typically available only to well-capitalised enterprises — a significant boost for fast-growing startups navigating the complexity of scaling in Africa.

Ireayomide Oladunjoye, Managing Director of Endeavor Nigeria, expressed enthusiasm about the cohort: “We are thrilled to welcome these remarkable entrepreneurs to Scale Up by Endeavor. They are tackling complex challenges in sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic growth, and we are confident that with Endeavor’s support, they will continue to scale their ventures and inspire future generations. With the addition of AWS and other resources, these entrepreneurs will be well-equipped to make an even greater impact.”

Through the Scale Up by Endeavor programme, Emmanuel and Ayobami will be matched with expert mentors from Endeavor’s global network and will receive targeted guidance on growth strategies, fundraising, culture-building, and operational scale. They will also gain access to Endeavor’s community of founders, mentors, and investors — both locally and globally — as they pursue the next phase of Tramango’s growth.

“Tramango’s mission has always been clear: to make travel affordable, seamless, and dignified for every Nigerian,” said Ayobami Akinnuga, COO of Tramango. “The Scale Up by Endeavor programme gives us access to the kind of strategic guidance and network that can help us accelerate that mission significantly. We’re excited about what comes next.”

For Tramango, selection into the Scale Up by Endeavor programme marks a pivotal moment — a validation of the team’s vision and execution, and an important stepping stone toward joining the broader Endeavor network, which today spans 42+ markets and supports more than 2,600 entrepreneurs whose companies generate combined revenues exceeding $67 billion and have created over 4.1 million jobs worldwide.
