Hiking is a challenging yet fantastic activity you can always engage yourself in; it is also a great choice to save money while on vacation. There are different beautiful highpoints around the world you could hike from but somewhere I really love is Mount Kilimanjaro. Hiking on the world’s highest mountains

Yes, that is the highest mountain in the world.

Nothing as exciting as that I can bet,  Just imagine seeing all of the world from a point, but I am not stopping there, I am showing you all of the world’s highest mountains for you to pick from;  sit tight and enjoy this!

What do you need to know or imagine?!

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa in eastern Tanzania and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain at 19,340 feet above sea level. 

If you have decided to hike on Mount Kilimanjaro?! That is a  lot of motivation, and I love that for you. 

On average, it takes about five to nine days to hike on this mountain. 

A week plus hiking?! You see the motivation and courage i was talking about 

A good part to this, you do not need so much expertise to hike the mountain, but you must be fully prepared; I mean, you are walking the highest mountain in Africa!

Hiking Mount Kilimanjaro is a challenge, but it is one you can take and finish.

Mount Nyiragongo 

This is the world’s largest active lava lake located in Virunga national park (the oldest national park in Africa and the richest in flora and fauna), Congo. 

If you think you will only see the lava lake at the top of the lake, you are wrong! You would see different animals while hiking to the top of the mountain, including chimpanzees, various species of monkey, three-horned chameleon, bushbuck.

Hiking on this world most giant stratovolcano takes approximately 5-6 hours, though it takes about 4 hours to descend, that’s entirely fair compared to other mountains.

Mount Toubkal

You’ve probably seen different articles asking how hard it is to climb Mount Toubkal; well, in my opinion, if you can hike other mountains, you can hike at mount Toubkal. 

Mount Toubkal is North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167 metres high, located in Toubkal national park, Morocco. You don’t need to be an expert climber, but you should have some level of fitness. It takes an average of three days to hike to the summit of the mountain.

The Drakensberg 

The Drakensberg, also known as Dragon’s mountain, is southern Africa’s highest peak located in South Africa. There are different hiking trails at the Drakensberg mountains. Hiking on the world’s highest mountains

The mountains have various hiking options for whether you are a beginner at hiking or a hiking expert. 

Whether you are going for half-day hikes, multiple-day treks or mountain climbs, you should find various trails at the Drakensberg.  

Hiking trails like; Rainbow George, lower Injusithi cave, cathedral peak, giant cup trail, Amphiteatre hike and chain ladders and Ploughman’s park; these varieties at Drakenberg mountains are very captivating.

Chappal Waddi  

Chappal Waddi is the highest point in Nigeria, located in Taraba state. It is also the second-highest point in Sub-Saharan West Africa. 

Nigeria is a hikers paradise, with lush scenery and pristine tropical climates, so you want to go hiking on Chappal Waddi situated along the border of Nigeria and Cameroon in one corner of Gashaka-Gumti national park. 

It takes an average of about 10 hours to hike to the top and down. Though hiking on Chappal Waddi is one of the most challenging hikes in Nigeria, it is worth it.

Mont Blanc 

Are you looking for a spectacular hiking trail that would blow your mind in Europe, Mont Blanc is the best option for you Located in France Most popular hut to hut hiking trail in Europe, it stretches through France, Italy, Switzerland. It is a good one to try foods from different villages across the three countries. 

The best time to hike here is in June and September, the weather is a lot cooler 

One unique thing I love about Mont Blac is the base camp along the hiking trail with more than 50 accommodations; I mean, that’s another motivation for you to hike at Mont Blanc.

Monte Rosa, Italy 

This is another European beauty Hike through the Italian and Swiss alps. The second highest group of mountains in western Europe. 

You would be hiking through iconic peaks walk through mountains, villages, streams and set stone trails. Amazingly, Monte Rosa has a little bit of history that would excite you while hiking.   

It takes an average of 8-10 days to hike at Monte Rosa. There are 211 hiking routes on the mountain with 194 hikes, 12 long-distance hiking routes, five pilgrim walks. It is a fantastic choice if you want to experience different cultures as you walk from village to village. 

Monte Rosa is another mountain that offers hut to hut accommodation as you hike. 

Luang Prabang, Laos 

Luang Prabang isn’t a mountain; it is a town with many remote villages, surrounding hills and mountains you can hike through. There is no particular time to go around the villages it depends on how long you are willing to spend there. One thing that amazes me about Luang Prabang is how beautiful the landscapes are

Laos is a beautiful country with so many hiking trails that are usually not talked about.
